All of our piercing specialists are fully trained to ensure that they meet all safety regulations and requirements before performing the piercing. With over 100 million ears pierced since 1978, it’s no wonder we are regarded as the piercing professionals! Did you know that we have pierced the ears of Olympians, musicians, and actors? We’ve pierced their kids too! With a proven track record, you can feel confident knowing that you or your child is in great hands when they step into our store.

All of our ear piercing specialists receive specialty training focusing on local piercing policy, practice, and procedures to deliver clean, hygienic and safe piercing environments. Each associate must complete “practical sign off” which means they must demonstrate an excellent piercing technique prior to our piercing trainer validating the associate’s certification. Our training program is certified by our partners at Studex, and our modular training program ensures our associates understand the policy, as well as being able to practically implement it. The key is consistency, so in addition to the initial training, piercing specialists must go through annual refresher training. This means the associates will not only attend training again, but will also complete another “practical sign off”, giving you extra reassurance that your piercing specialist has the most recent knowledge.

When you decide to get a piercing and visit one of our stores, we want you to feel welcomed and comfortable with the procedure. We’ll chat about what you or your child are looking for, and then we’ll use individually packed and pre-sterilized tools for a sanitary experience. Afterward, we’ll make sure you have all the knowledge to take care of your new ear piercings, including setting you up with the Aftercare Solution of your choosing. It’s so simple and easy, you’ll wonder why you didn’t come in sooner! At select Claire’s, we offer online self-scheduling, so you can easily book your appointment around your busy schedule.

Safety Measures

Each piercing experience is taken with consideration to safety from start to finish. We’ll sanitize the ear piercing station and chairs, sanitize hands and the instrument using medical grade supplies, wear a mask, and utilize single-use medical grade disposable gloves during the procedure. Our specialized piercing earrings are part of a pre-sterilized cartridge that is loaded directly into the instrument without ever being touched by the store associate. Safety is built into every step of our ear piercing process, making us one of the best places to get ears pierced.

Ear Piercing Aftercare

To ensure proper care, always keep your hands clean before touching a new piercing. In between cleanings, try to leave your newly pierced ears alone so they can heal properly. When cleaning, hold the front of the earring and make half turns each way, two to three times per day. Never remove the butterfly or earring back during cleaning and ensure it’s not pushed in too tight. Clean the front and back of your ear 3 times a day with your Aftercare Solution on a cotton pad. Keep soap, perfume, hair and cosmetic products away from your new piercing for a couple of weeks. We also recommend avoiding swimming for the first 24 hours after your new piercing.
